Friday flowers, edition #001.
Some fresh Friday flowers, for the weekend ahead.
This delicate wild flower design for silk material was drawn by William Kilburn, in 1790. Kilburn was an illustrator for William Curtis’s massive botanical guidebook of London, Flora Londinensis, as well as a leading designer and printer of calico. A few hundred originals of his water color designs form the Kilburn Album, which is housed at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. We never get enough of wild flowers, drawn well!
